Clay Desiccant

Clay Desiccant
Introduction to Clay Desiccant
Definition: Clay desiccant is manufactured from natural montmorillonite through an activation process. Its primary raw material is natural clay minerals, featuring a highly porous internal structure with strong water absorption and adsorption properties. The product exhibits excellent environmental sustainability and is naturally biodegradable.
Appearance: Clay desiccant presents as yellowish-brown spherical granules. High-temperature calcination and ceramicization confer dust-free properties, high hygroscopicity, extensive porosity, and uniform coloration, delivering a safe, efficient, and biodegradable moisture-proof solution.

1.Natural and Eco-Friendly
Made from crushed natural minerals granulated into pellets, it is safe, environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and biodegradable, meeting all environmental standards.
2.Highly Efficient and Long-Lasting
Montmorillonite exhibits a moisture absorption rate exceeding 20% of its own weight (with higher environmental humidity increasing absorption, reaching up to 33%), while maintaining stable performance even in high-temperature environments.
3.Safe and Reliable
With a pH of 7, this clay desiccant is neutral, non-corrosive, and does not react with most substances, making it suitable for sensitive applications like precision instruments and electronic components.
4.Wide Temperature Adaptability
It excels in both high and low temperatures, functioning effectively between -20°C and 80°C.
5.High Cost-Effectiveness
Made from natural materials with high production yields, clay desiccant offers low moisture absorption costs. It can be regenerated through high-temperature heating while maintaining excellent performance.
Montmorillonite adsorbs water molecules into its interlayers and pores through its layered microporous structure. Once water molecules enter the interlayers, they bond with cations on the montmorillonite surface via hydrogen bonds or van der Waals forces, forming single-layer or multi-layer adsorption.
Clay desiccants automatically regulate humidity in enclosed environments. At 25°C, their moisture absorption capacity ranges from 20% to 33% of their own weight (with higher humidity yielding stronger absorption; e.g., ≥33% absorption at humidity ≥80%).
