Silica gel desiccant is made from silica gel through a specialized process, and it appears as transparent or semi-transparent spherical beads. It removes moisture through physical adsorption. It has a high moisture absorption capacity, stable chemical properties, and is non-toxic, odorless, non-corrosive, insoluble in water, and non-powdery, making it safe for use. It remains effective over a wide temperature range, which makes it a commonly used, environmentally friendly desiccant in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, electronics, hardware, and instrumentation.
The appearance is generally transparent or semi-transparent spherical beads. Some are color-indicating types. The beads are round, uniform in size, hard in texture, free of dust, non-powdery, clean, and neat. They are often packaged in breathable small bags for use.
